“Age Is Just A Number” is a program being offered this October, November & December. We will gather twice monthly on Tuesday mornings with the first monthly session being led by a speaker on a specific topic relevant to our age demographic. The second session in each month will have no speaker and will be a loose structure with a free-form discussion on that same topic including shared experiences, thoughts, and resources. Dec. 13: Managing Our Changing Physicality—with Elise Foss, M.S. GLCMA Elise Foss (MS, GLCMA, HC) has been in the fitness Industry for 30 years and has helped numerous people look and feel their best! Elise has a Masters in Corrective Exercises which helps her support people in their alignment. She is also a presenter for the International Council on Active Aging. When people experience pain they often want to just deal with the part of the body that experiences discomfort without realizing that issues in other parts of the body could be to blame. Some of Elise’s “Viva Elise” videos include: · 10 min seated gentle moves to gain mobility -- toning the upper body while focusing on improving your posture · Release your back and center yourself with these simple movements · Three-Dimensional Breathing-- why a good breath helps your core · Releasing neck tension--Releasing neck tension after looking too long at the screen · Happy Feet-- our feet are our first contact with the ground. If we have issues with them we might have issues elsewhere in the body. · Seated posture-- why grandma was wrong when she told you to lift your chest and push your shoulders back for good posture. · Seated gentle moves to gain mobility Dress comfortably, and bring your questions for Elise to address.
