For bookkeeping purposes we ask that Temple Beth-El members log-in to our password protected Member Only area to complete an online donation.

  • Once in the member area, go to the section titled "My Financial Information" and click on "Make a Donation."
  • Then select a fund you wish to support, enter an amount and complete any dedication information. 
  • Continue to payment options.

Our Funds

A Just Harvest

This fund supports A Just Harvest, the largest community soup kitchen serving the Chicago metro area. TBE partners with A Just Harvest multiple times a year to provide meals to those in need and support the fight against hunger and poverty.

Cantor Kahan's Discretionary Fund

Allows our Cantor to fund needs and projects consistent with the charitable, religious and educational purposes of Temple Beth-El. 

Campaign for Religious Equality in Israel

To advocate for the acceptance and respect of the Reform Movement as a legitimate stream of Judaism by the Israeli Government.

Caring Community Fund

To assist or support congregant families in times of need and celebration.

Chai Legacy Fund

This fund was established with a gift from the Temple Chai Membership to celebrate its 50 year legacy and to align with the Jewish values shared with Temple Beth-El.  Annual usage of this fund will allow TBE to provide programming that engages current and prospective members in activities and initiatives that align with Temple Chai's mission statement "To inspire Jewish journeys in an inclusive, nurturing community with a passion of lifelong learning, music, acts of loving kindness and a love for Israel".

Hart OSRUI (Olin Sang Ruby Union Institute) Scholarship Fund

Scholarships for TBE members attending Olin Sang Ruby Union Institute summer camp.

Israel Action Fund

To support programs and initiatives that make Israel fundamental to the spiritual lives and identity of TBE members by promoting greater involvement, understanding and interaction between our congregants and Israel.

Kaplan/Weissberg Summer Camp Fund

Provides needs based scholarships for children attending Jewish summer camp.

Matthew Schaffer Schwartz z”l Tikkun Olam Award Fund

Provides a $500 College scholarship to a graduating high school senior who has devoted him/herself to acts of Tikkun Olam – Repairing the World, during their High School years.

Memorial Fund

Allows members, family and friends to honor a deceased relative or friend. This fund's proceeds are used to pay the general operating expenses of the congregation.

Phyllis Podolsky Memorial Cultural Series Fund

This fund will be used to hold social programs or activities involving cultural enrichment for the congregation.

Rabbi Helbraun's Discretionary Fund

Allows our Rabbi to fund needs and projects consistent with the charitable, religious and educational purposes of Temple Beth-El. 

Religious School Scholarship Fund

Tuition assistance for students enrolled in TBE Religious and Hebrew Schools.

School Tzedakah Fund

Provides support for a new charity in need every month. Tzedakah, which means “righteousness” in Hebrew, is a major way Jewish people are commanded to help make the world more just, more right through giving.

Social Action Fund

Provides support for outside community projects that are important to our members and fulfill the vision of our Temple.

TBE Education Fund

Provides funds for educational-related activities and electronics that further enhance our students’ educational experiences. Program support for the education of our children, parents and adults.

TBE Endowment Fund

Provides funding to secure our financial stability so that future generations will have access to the vibrant, spiritual home that has cared for our community since 1871.

TBE General Fund

This fund provides additional necessary resources for the ongoing operation of our congregation, school and programs.

TBE Men’s Club Fund

Provides support for the Temple Beth-El Men’s Club.

Women of Tempe Beth-El Fund

Provides support for the Women of Temple Beth-El.

Temple Beth-El Fund for Lifelong Learning 

Provides funds to support programs and initiatives that provide Jewish Education and enrichment for TBE members ages 0-100.

Torah Fund

Provides resources to  maintain our Torahs, write new Sefer Torahs, and teach Torah to our congregation.

William Blitz Family Children’s Cultural Arts Fund

Provides financial support for guest speakers, music and arts programs for the educational benefit of the children of Temple Beth-El.

Yahrzeit Fund

This fund allows members, family and friends to honor the anniversary of a deceased relative or friend. The proceeds of this fund help are used for the general operating expenses of the congregation.

YoBE – Youth of Beth-El Fund

Supports the social and communal activities of our Temple Beth-El Youth Group – YoBE.
