Temple President Ric Bachrach

Ric Bachrach, President

Temple president Ric Bachrach and his family (wife Diane and children Scott and Daniel) joined Temple Beth-El in 1996. After a short period becoming acquainted with the congregation, Ric volunteered to join the Religious Activities Committee, where his focus remained for several years. He joined the TBE Board of Directors in 1998 and was elected V.P. for Religious Activities a year later, also serving the RAC as a co-VP (with Joanne Gold).

Through the years Ric has volunteered in many areas of TBE's lay-leadership, including: Administrative Vice President, Co-chair of the Building Committee and Chair of the Ritual/FF&E/Garden Committee, Chair of the Nominating Committee, Co-Chair of the Cantorial Search Committee and of the Rabbinic Needs Analysis Team, as a member of our Executive Committee, the Chair of the Debbie Friedman Concert Committee and in various other capacities as a volunteer and committee member.

Ric grew up on Chicago's south side and in the southern suburbs. He and his family were members of Temples Isaiah Israel and B'nai Yehuda (Chicago) and later at Congregation Keneseth Israel in Hammond, Indiana. After moving to Dolton, Illinois in 1969, where there were relatively few Jewish kids, Ric became very active with his area BBYO group and helped the local chapter host several regional conventions. Ric also helps to lead our weekday morning Minyan service every Wednesday at Temple Beth-El.
